Do
You Know And Do You Care
Does it not bother
you to know
And do you care
'Bout diminishing
eco systems
On this planet,
everywhere
This amazing earth
Which Nature
formats
Is suffering
profoundly
Losing or dying,
are habitats
From plants and
animals
To fish in the
ocean
Fossil-fuel burning
Has caused, so much
commotion
Do you know
And do you, truly
care
When you have
passed
How your children,
will fare
With no
fore-thought, our industries continue
Polluting, our
skies and our waters
Not caring for the
futures
Of our sons and our
daughters
Have we become so
complacent
About CO2 and
methane emissions
That we care more
about profits
Than our,
eco-systems' attritions
Do you really know
And do you care
That your,
children's children
Will face, their
planet's despair
The damage being
caused
Can not be
over-stated
Our offspring will
suffer
With pollution
unabated
Dad, Eco activist would eat this stuff up?
ReplyDeleteMy most favorite part is on the first part, "on this planet, everywhere".
ReplyDeleteBy the time our children's children are born in hope to God that we have begun a colony on a nearby planet (Mars in our case). Money has indeed blinded humanity. I hope we save our blue marble but yet take steps to broaden our reach to other planets and beyond.
Slightly more abstraction to describe humanity's intentions would flow very nicely poetically.
